Yuko Takao studied art in Tokyo and in Michigan. Now residing in Germany, she is the author of two books: A Winter Concert, a children's book written and illustrated by her, and The Mouse House, written by Rumer Godden and illustrated by her. A Winter Concert is published by Millbrook Press in the U.S., and continues to be a great source of inspiration to the September Concert.
